DAEI fieldwork 2018
The Danish Archaeological Expedition (DAEI) will resume its Phase II (2017-19) archaeological investigations on the Rania Plain from early October 2018.
We plan to continue our investigations of early urbanism with the excavation of additional soundings, coring and sampling at the site of Girdi Gulak to determine economic, social and spatial transformations.
As in the previous seasons, we will post weekly updates and photographs of the project’s work and results on our facebook page: www.facebook/babwkur
The 2018 fieldwork is funded by:
- The Danish Institute in Damascus
- Ernst B. Sund Fonden
- Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies, University of Copenhagen
- National Museum of Denmark
